The Mission and Values

The Order of Vitéz was founded by the Regent of Hungary “to honor the bravest and remember their sacrifice”. If we pay attention to our founder and first Captain General, vitéz Miklos Horthy, we must realize that he said that the mission is to gather and honor the bravest; and the , with the goal of remembering the greatest sacrifices for Hungary and of building our future on solid foundations. Today, the world is a more complex than ever; and there are serious challenges for nations, federations and peoples.

The only way to handle these situations is to keep safe our faith and our values and to be kind and open towards those who deserve it, but also remain firm in our principles. Those principles which, in the past, more than 1000 years ago, created our country and our nation. Not one, but seven tribes were forged together, by the mutual oath of the tribal leaders, which was sealed by their own blood, so to become later one single inseparable nation under the Holy Crown of Hungary.

The Order of Vitéz believes in the highest importance of the most fundamental values of religion, nation and family. The Order’s priority goal is to preserve Hungary’s national sovereignty and its national values, and to encourage a Christian way of living for all members.

The Order of Vitéz is a Military Order based on Christian confession and encouraging a life with the highest ethical values. The Order is – however a conservative, hierarchical structure – not taking active part in modern politics and membership is only possible for those non members of any extreme political movement – left or right.
